#WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM OF THE DEAD FULL#

I have decided to be queen of my own Kingdom of the sick. Anyone is welcome. If you are sick or find yourself sick down the road, remember we are here. The Kingdom never goes away. Everyone finds themselves in the Kingdom at some point. If they don’t, it is because they are dead. I am not going to lie, the Kingdom sucks. It is nice to never be alone, there is always someone else in the Kingdom. It gets quite full at times to be honest. You never plan on joining the Kingdom of the Sick. I should have realized something was wrong when I was sick before being diagnosed. I kept getting killer headaches that would always last two days and nothing would help get rid of it. I should have known then that something was up, but getting sick can happen so slowly you lose sight of just how much you are affected or how bad you feel. You don’t think it will happen to you. You never think you will get sick or be diagnosed with something life threatening.

Wait, that isn’t exactly true. The lupus did attack my brain. It left three spots of inflammation or lesions that will never go away. It was terrifying when they found them because they couldn’t tell if they were lesions or low-grade tumours and none were in spots that could be biopsied. Pretty scary stuff. It could attack my brain at any point again and every pain in my head leaves me worried. I don’t know how much of that has to do with having a chronic illness. Lupus terrifies me. Every time I get a cough I am scared it will turn into a lung infection which could easily kill me. Lupus could attack my organs at any point although it is unlikely since I have gone five years since diagnosis without organ involvement. We take even the small victories in the Kingdom and celebrate them. There aren’t many things that scare me in life. I like to think I am pretty unshakeable. Very little surprises me nowadays. People have commented on how calm I am when the shit hits the fan.
